My girl friend who has never dabbled in photography before, to me seemed to have a eye for it. On the DPC she was always picking the shots that were in the top ten better then I was, and every time I did not want to put in a photo but she thought it was good so I did, scored high. So I told her that she should learn. Well I told her a few things about the camera and she took these two shots. I did the photo shop work but these are her first photo's

First one, the tree branches in the second one are distracting. |

First one. If the second one can be more close, let's say only shoot the window area and bring up the details of the wood, I think will be much better. |

First one for sure, framing on the other one is decidedly arbitrary.

yup, first one - that window is the best part and too far out of the frame in the second one. the sky being the way it is (featureless), i would have concentrated on the great texture of the walls and the boarded up window.
they're both very good, though |

I almost like the second one better, but that pipe/fence (whatever it is) attracts too much attention. I noticed it's not in the first picture. |

Second one better. ST1S. A lot clearer textures on the house, less of the blown sky, and there's a really distracting white circular tank thing on the right hand side of the first one, imho.
