ok so the deal is that my file size is 100k, and it is telling me that i dont meet the size requirments.... now i am really confused because i didnt go over my 150k..... i also (in photoshop) saved for web and got my file size down to 27k and it is telling me the same thing, if anyone could help that would be great.

There are 2 sizing criteria that must be met for dpchallenge. First is pixel size: either 640x480, 480x640, or 427x640, 640x427. Second is the file size, <150kb.

Here is my procedure with Photoshop:

If I'm not photographing in tiff, I save my original file to a .tiff.

Complete all the tweaking, (auto levels, auto contrast, color correction, cropping etc)

Save my file to .jpg obtaining the largest size with the least compression possible and I avoid the "save for web" option. (Use the save for web option if you have Photoshop 7)

Sharpen the image, if necessary and then resave the file adjusting the slide bar, in the .jpg window, until the file size is less than 150kb.
