Greetings,
A while ago someone mentioned getting a discount on Adobe Photoshop with their purchase of a Canon 20D. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about that offer? and if it was still ongoing?

I got it for 350, I think. I try not to remember my impulse buying. :(
I think Kirbic or Club Juggle mentioned it. I'll try to dig up the link.

Remember that "CS2" is coming out in May. This is a nice deal, but if you find that you later want the features of CS2, I think the CS-to-CS2 upgrade is an additional $169 USD.

I just upgraded from Elements to CS, and the nice sales person explained that since I did it after CS2 was announced, I would get a free upgrade (well, I pay shipping cost for the CD) to CS2 when it is released. I think I ordered it April 5, and CS2 was announced April 4 (or something like that). I called today to confirm this and they put in my order for CS2 no problem. Who knew?
Maybe this will help somebody not have to wait until May. I know I am incredibly impatient about these things.
edited to add - I used the Canon upgrade, too. I had to call the service dept. (glad I did, too!) becuase the order stalled for some reason, but I did get CS, and the subsequent upgrade to CS2, for $299.

Is it worth it for the full version over the elements version? |

The best thing to do is to compare features and decide for yourself if it's worth it since each person's priorities and requirements are different.

I definitely want strong masking tools and lots of control over the dynamics of the photo. A good effects library is an must as well.
So I definitely think Elements probably isn't for me. But is PhotoShop going to offer enough to justify my getting rid of Corel Photopaint? |

Compare the features in both. I believe you can get a 30 day trial version of CS to try it out.

What does CS stand for? and now I see CS2 is coming out in May. Do I really want to buy CS when CS2 is a month away?
Maybe i'm just confued? Adobe's website has really poor navigation for getting basic product info. (And they just bought my darling Macromedia....I hope this doesn't screw up the future of Flash and ColdFusion) |

It stands for creative suite. Have you compared CS to CS2? If the new features aren't something you care about, maybe you don't need it.
