I am strongly thinking about submitting some of my work on DPC. But I would like to know if people do sell pictures or is it more like selling one piece a year?
If anyone knows something about it please let me know!

How much you sell really depends on how well you can promote your prints, that is, how much traffic you can generate through links to your print store. Also depends on the value you are offering.
The real value of DPC, IMO, is not the print sales, but the opportunity to improve your photography through the community interaction. No site better on the web for that, and at $25 per year, no better phoographic investment to be had.
PS: I might be biased, but others will tell you a similar tale.

Agreed. Pic sales is a only one aspect (which I pretty much ignore) of DPC. If you're hoping to make some real cash, you're probably better off robbing a bank or something. You might try a local store that deals in that sort of thing. I don't know because, like I said, I don't dp that stuff myself.

Kirbic - You are not bias on what you said, I totally agree. Just to add if you purchase any of your own prints from DPC Prints, it will only take a few, you will save more than $25.00 in print cost compared to some place [locally especially]. So to me even if I don't sell a print on this site it is well worth $25.00. The communication between a vast variety of photographs, getting comments and advice from them is worth the $$$ in it's self. Not to mention the friendships you will acquire. All for $25.00 and there's more....... [edited sounds like a info commercial].

Why does one need to pay $25 to enjoy the benefits of the community spirit? It seems pretty accessible to me...or am I missing something?

I agree -- dpc prints is great place to sell your prints...but it's well worth it to join dpchallenge as well. I've learned a lot in the past 6 months or so...great community.

Member only forums, additional challenges, portfolio, etc.
That may not sound like a lot to some and they choose not to become a member. That is the beauty of this site. If you want to remain a registered user thats fine with DPC and it's members and you will be treated just as well as a member. I choose to become a member because the benefits was worth it and I felt $25 was a great deal to help support this site.
