Hi all! I just joined. I'm pretty new to photography -- been doing it about six months off and on. I'm very interested in getting criticism in order to help me improve. Feel free to be as brutal or as honest as you need to.

The setup: Last Friday I visited City Hall in San Francisco to check out two photography exhibits in its basement. I couldn't resist taking my own pictures while I was there, and I was in luck: The "Eyes Wide Open" exhibition, which displays shoes to represent those killed in Iraq, had just set up on the lawn across the street.

A few samples:

Here's the full gallery of pictures from City Hall and "Eyes Wide Open:"

You can click on the medium-sized images for 1024ish versions. Your input is appreciated.

Thank you,
Ben

That second shot is GORGEOUS! A little more processing and you have a classic! Good work! B

Totally agree with the 2nd shot. This one is also very nice. Heard about the display but didn't get a chance to go down to check it out. Great collection of shoots.
