i don't know the site, but i have heard of the lenses. supposedly, they are what they are, pretty cheap, but decent. most people say the peleng 8mm fisheye is good enough for a specialty lens (especially at ~$220) seems most people buy it from kiev camera. they sell them on ebay.
i've heard there's very little clearance on the nikons and i guess there's some variance in the lenses, so some people have reported problems with the mirror hitting the lens on the d70 and d100, but it seems a lot of people get the lens to work with their cameras just fine. canons are supposedly fine since they have more clearance. |

I've got the Peleng, and the Zenith 16mm is supposed to be pretty funky too - but don't expect great quality out of either of them, they're fun lenses. Manic took a great shot with the Peleng on the London GTG ... //photos.manic.nu/displayimage.php?album=23&pos=53
As for rugift, I have heard of them several times so I'm pretty sure they're okay. Here's another one //www.zenit-camera.com/ though I've never ordered from them either - all my funky lenses come from eBay.

I purchased my Peleng from rugift, and found their service to be fine. Shipping doe stake some time from the Ukraine, or course.

Just found this in the forum archives and thought it an interesting thing to revive. I've been peekining around this site - Rugift- and am intrigued by the variety of lenses available from our comrades. I see alot of folks have the Peleng Fisheye but I'm sorta liking the Rubinar 500. I do not expect this to be of Nikkor quality but do think that it would likely take some good shots, and I also like the donut Bokeh. Anyone stretched and tried out what our "Comrades" are producing? |
