I don't even know what pi is - That will give you an idea of how dense I am. I know it has something to do with algebra (?).
Anybody have a photo that would suggest what it might mean in a photo? |

Actually it's geometry. Pi is the ratio between the circumference and the diameter of a circle.
Here is some info and links about pi.

I know it to 50 decimal places, if that helps :P.
Honestly, this is off the top of my head:
3.14159265358979323846264338327950288419716939937510
If you find any mistakes, it's just proof that I didn't look it up :P. |

An interpretation of the challenge could be "Circles"

How do we know you didn't add mistakes in on purpose to make it look like you didn't look it up? :D
Lisae, why do you remember this number to 50 places?!! Are you a math wizard, or do you just remember numbers very well?

You should investigate the symbol for Pi. It's quite an interesting shape - perhaps you can find something with the same shape and take a photo. Most people will recognise the symbol. |

I have a Physics degree. But actually, one of my maths teachers in high school wrote it on the board to 25 places and asked us to memorise it. I did that, then looked at the next 25 on a poster that was on the wall and memorised those too. I didn't tell anyone though... I thought they'd probably call me names :P. |

I'm ashamed. I have a physics degree too and all I can remember is 3.14! |

starblazer - is your handle from that old 70s Japanese cartoon?! |

Oh my god, thank you! I'd been trying to remember that cartoon's name forever! I watched it when I was a little kid, but I seemed to remember it as Star Raiders, and couldn't find anything about it on the 'net. I'd ask people if they remembered this cartoon with a big battleship that had a gun in the hull, and everyone would look at me like I'd gone mad...
Phew. Now I can rest easy... |

It was the wave motion cannon, silly :P. |

Well, it's the same as that cartoon but I had never heard about that Japanese animation until someone asked me about it. I thought I was being creative when I came up with this nic on my own :P. It's a reflection of my passion for astronomy. |

I have a book called "The History of Pi". This doesn't mean I can come up with any ideas or anything, but hoping it will help. OH, and on the nerd scale, I bought this book to read for pleasure.:) Well, gotta go crack that book!

All photos of blueberry pies will get 10s from me!
(Kidding)
For those who think I've finally lost it, I should explain that my nickname on DPC Chat Room has evolved from Kavey (my Real World nick name) to KV*BlueberryPie!
:)
Oh and here:
PIE!!!!!!!!!
I've sent that damn link around the world and back! :)
Oh and I am an Artsy French student (though I do work in IT now) and I remember pi as 3.142 (rounded). Why I remember it at all is beyond me when I can't remember my own mobile phone number (yes really) as I don't think knowing pi is ever going to come in useful in my life ...

Hey, check out these images of pi:

//oz.irtc.org/ftp/pub/stills/1997-06-30/cowpi.jpg
And here is a site with some interesting pi-derived art:
//www.jvshly.de/
You can even get your very own pi sign!:

If you are mathematically minded, or even just creative, this ought to be an interesting and fun challenge!
