Hi,all...I've been sort of shooting from the hip for the past year but now I'd like to get serious. I could use some feedback re: composition, photoshop work, color balance, etc...any constructive criticism on some of my shots.
Please let me know if there are rules against posting links to my actual site.
Here are a few:
Church Door Ironwork
Thousand Yard Stare
Bear Mountain Bridge
Seattle Seagull
Coffee
Thanks! |

Church Door Ironwork----Love the color the only thing is move a little to the right. I don't like how that leaf is cut off in the bottom right. And the white blemish is kind of annoying see if you can clone that out.
Thousand Yard Store----Like the way it is Great shot.
Bear Mountain Ridge----I like the way the light pole is highlighted in the middle of the shot.
Seattle Seagull---Nice. I would try to get the whole bird and not cut his feet off.
Coffee----Seems a little clutered. I would move the big blue glass out of the way.
Hope I wasn't mean. Some great work here and you have great potential. Keep it up.

Hi there, they are good shots. Many different idea's about image and composition. You are shooting with the Nikon D70, which should make your work a little easier. Great camera for still type photography. Everyone can nick pick every photo. Just keep taking as many photos as possible. Don't be discourage about results just yet. |

Thanks, so far. Point of clarification...only the first two were shot with the D70, which I just purchased three weeks ago. The others were shot with an N90s on Velvia 100 or Reala 100. |

The two shot with the D70 show an esceptional sense of composition and depth of color. I like them very much.

I see a natural talent and eye for excellent composition and feeling in all of your shots. I hope you keep that as you progress with the more technical aspects. While I agree that the coffee cup one is a bit cluttered, you still had me looking at the hand and cup. Good luck and keep sharing with us. I think you will excel.
