Hi! Both shots are looking pretty out of focus. While the first one is "sharper", neither looks particularly good. It looks like you had some camera shake going. I would suggest reshooting with a tripod to stabalize.
What were your settings while shooting, and were you using the image stabilization?

The thumbnails look great! unfortunately both photos are out of focus.
of the two the 2nd looks better as it is soft rather than sharpened soft (the halos are distracting)
I think you need to look at your settings and re-shoot. Neither of these is a 'keeper' IMO. Sorry.
Nice location and lighting though. Regarding composition I would suggest allowing more room to 'breath' for the mountains.. more sky and try a panotramic shot (i.e. stitch two shots together)
Regards
Chris

Hi Patricia,
They both appear to me as overprocessed, the halos around the edges, too much contrast etc. pehaps you were trying to sharpen what was a slightly out of focus shot. I would suggest either a reshoot in this case or maybe post the original for us to look at.
Pity, the thumbs look great.
Paul.

Here are a few things I tried with your picture... it's such a lovely view that I thought maybe there was something that could be done to rescue it, even if it was ever so slightly. I aged the first two with lots of grain and scratches, and the last one has some mist added with a PS action. Anyway, it was just a thought. :o)

Have you tried over-sharpening it and puting a watercolour filter (or other art filter) on it? I find sometimes I can save a blurred photo doing this. |

I like the third one the best. The first two are just entirely too grainy. The third had kind of a dreamy look to it.
Here is one that I modified to make it look like a watercolor. You have blurriness on your side with this photo. Go with it.

Sure is a good example to show the value of a good tripod. Best to retake the photo, trying to fix it will not show your best work. |
