woohoooo. Ive just got my first bit of gear.
A brand new tripod. WT3550, looks good to me, and i think i picked it up for a steel! And dont tell me if i didnt.
Pitty about the lack of flashy camera to go atop!
I like to work backwards most of the time. Gives you a good feel for where your going to go! or have been?
Kiddy exitement! Now i have to wait for shipment! Are we there yet...?
Im really keen on the 300D, and seeing that so many people in here use one, and praise them, is encouraging me even more.
For once i thought that i would save up for it rather than just fork it out tho, so it will be a little while yet. Just adds to the appretiation.
Oh, and i got a Mini tripod thrown in too! cant wait!

Congratulations, you will not believe the difference a good tripod makes. Never forget the tripod at home..... too easily it becomes a hassle, the secret is to make taking it with you a habit. And use it, use it, use it!

Congrats on your first buy!! I recently upgraded from a Kodak to a 300D and I can tell you, I've never been happier. Hope you get your 300D soon to go ontop of that flashy tripod!!!

I got the tripod in.
Very light construction.
I would be a little woried about putting a 300d with the battery grip on it in the portrait angle! or with a big lense at all! mmmmmmmm
Oh well, i dont have one yet anyway, ill think about it then.
Had to buy a new truck in stead of the camera! Wonder what i could have bought for AU$15,000 in terms of photography!
Not bitter!

It will do what you need for now. I'm sure there will be a next time, so next time check the weight ratings and make sure the tripod will hold twice the weight of whatever you need to put on top of it. Bogan/Manfrotto, Slik and Gitzo all make some descent tripods. Be careful about the lower end Sliks. Slik's Pro line is pretty good though.
