Location, location, location :P Congrats winning another one. You should have the tourist board in Oregon buy up your photos to bring people to vacation there.

Actually, I'm going on a road trip this summer, and Thomas's photos have made me want to include Cannon Beach on the list of stops ~_~

He's at it again in the billboard challenge (naturally). We need to petition for a rule change that you can only use a given subject/location twice a year in challenges. That ought to shut down this upstart whippersnapper...

:-)

Well damn, someone stole your beach then... You better sue... Sheesh, half the site is gonna go to Cannon Beach ins earch of ribbons. You're gonna be single-handedly responsible for a 19% increase in coastal Oregon tourism figures for 2005.

You go hang out with BradP in some far away country with no internet access. Shoo! ;)

Man, the hell with this. I'm selling everything and moving nextdoor to Zoomdak's. Or better yet Zoomdak, let's switch coasts for a while.

I didn't think there was too much wrong with this coast ---->

But c'mon - in the name of fairness, I think bear's suggestion is on the money - no more than two shots a year in the same location :P !! I think you almost deserve another ribbon for your ability to shoehorn that beach into every second challenge - I mean christ - dragging a bed all the way down there - that's off the charts.

In all seriousness - you really should try selling some of those cannon beach shots - set up a stall or something (we'll just pretend for the moment that no licence is required), I'm sure you'd make a killing, from locals and tourists alike.

I was really looking forward to seeing how Zoomdak's Adrift was done. Even sent in a DQ request because I was in doubt that someone would go to so much trouble to shoot for a challenge. Well, after reading the explanation, my guesses were pretty close. And apparently it was not as much trouble as I thought. Always nice to have a willing helper, and, of course, as faidoi noted, location is key. There are aspects of the shot that were very well done, such as getting the bed to be so perfectly level on, presumeably, a soft, sandy beach; and getting the bed and table to be perfectly parallel. The Rule of Thirds at work to give very nice composition; and pleasing colors.

Congrats on a well deserved blue Zoomdak.

Heck, I live in Portland and found those free guides pretty interesting. Got a few coming to me now, thanks Faidoi. Hopefully they'll have some neat places to go and shoot that I haven't been to yet.

I'll leave the coast to Zoomdak though. :)
