Hi all.
Tomorrow the Christo Gates open in Central Park, NYC. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up.
I have been waiting for this for awhile. It will be running from tomorrow to Feb 27th.
I will be around there somewhere this weekend.
Hope some of you can make it.

I still don't know exactly what the gates are, except they involve a lot of fabric. If anyone can tell me what exactly they are, I can't really find that anything on the news page, but I'm definantly planning on going next week when I get a chance.

I think the project is really cool and I would love to be able to get away for a weekend to see it...but if I had $20m I can't say I'd spend it on something like that!

I have pics!
I went early today but it was so ridiculously annoyingly packed. I'm going to go back on a weekday morning to avoid the hordes. Also, I'm going to try a lesser-traveled area of the park :)
But still, it was so beautiful, and I'm so glad I went!
Here are some pics, definitely more to come :)

Very nice, Katy! I especially like the first one. The last one is cool, too, with the backlighting. They are all nice. Good luck Wednesday, we'll look forward to seeing more.

And I was originally going to go, but I had a feeling it would be very packed. I still might go today, but Tuesday looks like a great day right now. They say it will be the warmest day of the week, so I am gonna be around there then.
