Two threads by me in one day! Woooo I'm tired.
Annnnyway, anyone ever seen this flash : T4D?
It looks amazing and the price isn't too bad. I just can't find one in Canada. The same photos I found online were just phenomenol, it actually recreates studio lighting. |

At a recent wrestling tournament, a professional photographer was using one with a Canon 10D.
My curiousity sparked a discussion with him and he said he was extremely happy with it. He had the external power pack and recycle times were amazing.
For what it's worth, he was bouncing the light off the gymnasium ceiling!
That's my 0.02¢

craaaazy! They only have one Canadian dealer, though (in Ontario).
It's about $200 more than the 580EX I have on order but seems very worth it!!! |

True to my nature, I cancelled my order for the Canon 580 and ordered the Quantum T4D instead. Can't wait to see her, although I don't have a cable to hook it up to my battery yet. So all I'll be doing is looking.

3 weeks later and I've only tested it - once. It only runs on Turbo packs and the turbo pack I bought (just my luck) has all dead cells. So no go. The camera store is discounting me so I can get it repaired (they're giving me $200 off and it will cost about $50 to replace the cells). After than away we go! It's a great flash, I'll have to pick up a second smaller flash for jobs on the fly..it's too big to haul the T4D and bracket everywhere. It'll be dandy at weddings, tho. The shop loaned me a brand new turbo pack last weekend cause I had a job and wanted to use the T4D. .. that job was postponed so I just did some test stuff around the house to see how powerful it is. In my tiny apartment it blasts everything bright white. Tons o' juice.
