So Cal DPC Meet Up - Anza Borrego (Apr 8th - 10th)

Ok, to get ready for this trip, I want to know who's meeting in Glendale and who wants to meet at the park? We are going to leave Glendale at 7pm (earlier if we can get everyone to my place by then), so I want to hear from all of you who are going: jefalk, ltsimring,
mrakami, Sandman and two others who we have room for! Is 7pm ok, or do you want to leave at 6pm? I am calling on Monday to find out about late check-in.

We only have parking for our RV and one car (which we'll be towing on the RV) so if you plan to drive and meet us there, you may want to find out about parking for your car.

Besides the obvious, you should pack:
sunscreen
sunglasses
cds or dvds (blank) for burning your photos
food (non-perishable prefered) - snacks and small meals
WATER (enough for yourself for the weekend)
Backpack (to carry everything while hiking)
Bug repellent
Itch cream & First aid kit
Tell your family / friends where you will be (Tyner Reservation for Anza Borrego - RV full hook-up campsite)
Chargers (phone, camera, etc)
Flip flops (for showers at the local facilities)

You're REALLY going to kill me this time since I really wanted to go but my sister needs me to watch the girls April 7-10. I'll still pay you for my portion of food/RV space since it's getting close and might not get someone else to fill my spot. I want to try and come down for at least part of a day then go home. We'll see. Or, maybe my sister will cancel her trip! :) I'll keep you posted.

I am really sad you won't make it! :( Thank you for offering to put in your share of the campground fund. If I can fill your spot you won't have to.

Does anyone else want to go to Anza Borrego with us? I know it's going to be amazing!

Hi guys,
Where in Anza Borrego will you be staying/meeting up? I'll be in the Temecula area during this time and can't say for sure that I'll be able to get over that way yet, as I'll be visiting family and have no idea what our plans are yet. But maybe we could drive out for an afternoon. This is a slim chance but it'd be nice to meet up with some DPC'ers. I definetly won't be able to fill one of your open spots but if perchance we can get out that way ... I'd like to.

I kid.. I kidddd.. I'm going to make it of course ^.^ but I must figure something out because going from Irvine to Glendale in under 2 hrs on a friday.. yyyaaaa i don't see that happening. 7:00 is good for me gives me sometime to get there..you'll most likely be waiting for me since I'm the furthest >.<, but yea I'll figure something out before the time comes. Might have to take the day off or half day but i will keep ya posted. Until then.

jenesis, we are staying in palm canyon (at the rv camping), but will be out and about during the day. I think we are going to try to go everywhere we can! I need to plan the day out better, but I may just bring a map and let us all play it by ear. I want to go to the badlands, the slot, and to find the mini waterfall :) PM me and I'll give you my cell so you can TRY to reach us!!! :) Arie

I called Anza today. We are ok'd for a late check-in Friday night. For those who are meeting us down there, we are camping in Palm Canyon. We have to officially sign in Saturday morning at 8am at the camp ground check-in station. So, for any of you not camping, but want to meet up with us for the day, you can meet me at the camground check in station at 8am for Palm Canyon. Again, not sure if my cell phone will work.

So, do we have 6 for camping? We still have room for 2 more) :) Please, join us!

Re: Packing things.
Don't forget your allergy pills. The flowers and the dust is causing this to be one of the worst hay fever seasons. Plus I hear poison oak is blooming as well as any other plant life. So avoid them and wear long sleeves if you can. Trust me you don't want poison ivy/oak.

On a side note, I've had to cut short my trip, but I will have all day Tuesday to go and shoot. I'm still thinking of Antelope Valley - would y'all say it was worthwhile ?

Sadly, we are down to 4. The camping site is non-refundable, and I am very sad that more people are not coming. Camping costs are $65 split (minus jefalk, who's paying for gas in the RV). It won't be that much if we get more people. And, I already paid it up front, so please... consider joining us! It will be lots of fun! I am really looking forward to it! Bring your spouse/significant other! We have room! Post here asap!!!

I am not bringing gels. I am bringing my tripod and a shutter release cable, but that's it. Nothing exciting. I wish I had gels and good flash lights to bring. oh well. It'll be really fun. If you want invite a friend. We have room!!!
