Being a relatively new member I have a question of protocol. I have one or two ideas for the current challenge and would like to discuss options, immprovements etc with a friend. This would be done outside the forums, but the friend I have in mind is also a DPC memeber. Having seen early examples of the images may influence voting ( +ve or -ve ). Is such a move common or even accepted practice?

I guess I haven't discussed any of my entries before or during the challenges with other members. I'd suggest you bounce off your ideas off the said member and agree to not vote on each other's entries. Just a thought.

I don't see a problem with that. I have a friend here as well and we exchange ideas. It gets the creative juices flowwing. :-) If it can help you get a great shot and inspire other photographers here, go right ahead!!

This is both accepted and fairly common. It is, as you know, not appropriate to share your entry with large numbers of users in the forums, but sharing your entry with a friend (or a couple friends) is not considered a violation of site rules, as long as you try to vote as objectively and honestly as possible.
