Hi
I have a chance to get one of these lenses second hand for a decent price
Will it work well on my 300d ?
I do a lot of sport photography so the need for a fast lens is top of the list

its either this or a new Sigma 70-200 2.8

you'll be happy with either, but there's a nice $300 price difference, I'd get the sigma, or the canon F4.

the canon f4 does not really fit the bill as I need the 2.8 to shoot under floodlights at football(soccer) matches

I was thinking the L glass would be much better than the Sigma even though it was second hand
I can get it for £400
while the new Sigma is around £580 in the shops or £480 on Ebay

go with the L glass , if you want to trade up later , it holds it's value at resale
