hello!
i would be very glad if someone could explain me how did some of the competitors made pictures like : everything is black and white but only one object is coloured blue or yellow or red....how is this possible?

Try this tutorial which describes how the technique was used to the opposite effect (one B+W object in a color image). The manipulations should be basically the same...
