I just upgraded my 300d with the Canon d20. I took some test shots to compare the two cameras and I noticed the flash of the 300d was better.
I took pictures of the same items and the d20 picture came out darker. The lighting on the 300d was much brighter. I only tested the cameras inside and still need to test some outside shots.
Has anyone else notices this or is it just me? I will post some test photos later.

Both the D20 and the 300 have a guide number rating of 43 feet so the flash should not be the issue. I would guess it is either a metering problem or perhaps you had the shutter speed set too fast on the D20, just a guess.

I have both the rebel and the 20d also but I've noticed just the opposite. The 20d has a more advanced flash system so it should be better.

One thing I would check is the metering mode. It can't be changed manually on the rebel but it can on the 20d. I would make sure they are both using the same mode when you do your test shots.

Also if you haven't already, make sure your using the same focus points.

Good Luck
