Hi all. I need some help. With all this talk of how great mirrorless cameras are, I think I will sell my Nikon D5600 and buy a used Sony a6000.
My question is this: my main lens is the Nikon 18-200mm VR. Is there an equivalent lens for the a6000 that has the same field of view as the nikon 18-200? Are the focal lengths equivalent between the two systems in terms of field of view?
Thank you in advance. |

I can't answer the question on availability of specific lenses for the Sony, but I can tell you that since both are APS-C cameras, their FoVs for a particular focal length should be very close to the same. I'm not sure that the A6000 is a step up from the D5600 in anything but size. The design is actually two years older (2014 vs 2016). |

I don't know much about the 6000, but I think kirbic may be right. If you can find an a6500, that's a nice one to start with. You may be able to get a good price on it, because that one has been discontinued. But that's the Sony that I started with, and it's a really nice camera. I actually just sold my old one. But it's definitely a camera that I would recommend. |

There are a TON of used a6000's out there and you should be able to get one relatively cheap (less than $400). One thing to keep in mind with the a6### series is that the only ones with IBIS are the a6500/a6600 models.
Personally, I'd suggest looking at a Sony a7II (full frame) as those are pretty dated now and you can find them at a reasonable used price (think B&H Photo used dept or Keh.com).
Good luck. |

It is not about Nikon but I have Canon 5D M4 and Sony A7Rii and I use both of them and I have an adaptor that fits in Canon lens to Sony and so far all worked out good for me. |
