We seem to be low on numbers participating right now, which I guess might mean that over at the scheduling side we are throwing wild pitches :-(
ANYway, we're open to some sort of brilliant suggestion for a wildly popular, never-before-attempted, open challenge in Standard Editing to go in at rollover tonight :-) Any takers? Failing anything more inspirational, we'll probably run a "Feast" challenge, which maybe we ought to anyway, come to think?

Well, it's either feast or famine, I suppose... take that as a suggestion if you will! |

I am not surprised, I thought there are way too many esoteric challenges. It might be best to run something archival to give us a break. |

Been making a list, might as well check it twice for consideration at this opportune moment. Perhaps some are duplicates.
Sideways----Rotate your image 90 degrees once.....Standard
Maps---------Not alone, but as a component of your image.....Standard
Trace---------Something barely there, faded, used up, left behind, etc......Standard
Patience-----Whatever you make of it, we can wait.....Standard
What You Wish There Was More Of-----Keep it clean.....Standard
Keys-----------Keys.....Standard
Wish I Could Do It Over-----From introspection to banana splits.....Standard
Rename-------Rename something to strike a whimsical, emotional, etc., chord.....Standard
Secret---------Reveal something of yourself.....Standard

I agree with Marnet. An Archival challenge would entice the most contributors.

@ Margaret: Can you give me some examples of non-esoteric topics that are NOT some variation of Portrait, Landscape, Still Life and so forth, just so I know where your hed's at?
@Margaret and Larry: Archival is not what we do, as a rule. We've had 9 of them so far this year, which is a lot. Anyway, we reserve those for Member challenges and this is am Open challenge tonight...

Yes! Or better yet an open description... Just "do something Sideways" Standard edit. |

@ Pigeon: Wonderful List :-)
@ Lydia: Some interesting possibilities there, but remember we are looking for Standard Editing per the original ask :-)

I rather like the idea that this would be done in post with one 90 degree rotation. "Show us how your world looks when turned on its side!"

I feel that in order to get the most submissions the challenge should be one that gives the largest opportunity to take a picture with the least amount of complexity. Since most of us will be with friends and family over the next few weeks why don't we have a simple challenge like "take a picture of friends or family"? |

Yeah... that was my bad. But I did hope I̢۪d recovered by giving four standard editing recommendations after.
I̢۪ll think some more.
But... thinking isnt my super power these days. :(

Cool. But would require a flag. In post... So minimal or standard? ... with a rotation? |

I've been looking towards one like that for the Xmas-NYs period...

I left it in Australia! ;)
Entering every challenge for a while now leaves me tired and burnt out so I am not much of help there.
Trace is to me also esoteric, it requires effort I don't have energy for so I will finish entering an image with just a trace of quality and thought :/ Why not something educational for newbies like Rule of Thirds or Leading Lines or Repetition i.e. elements of composition rather than something literal? We don't have newbies any more? |

I read the description and decided it sounded too difficult to find something that would meet the challenge. Maybe I should have entered anyway. |
