Were photoshop filters allowed for this challenge??? Because i'm thinking i missed something based on the description of this and previous impressionism challenges.
After tanking and seeing this comment on a number of entries. 'Relies on a photoshop filter to produce its entire value in meeting the challenge: 1.'
Even tho the issuing of a 1 seems to be consistent with the commenter's average vote cast of 3.9553. Seems this was unclear to other voters as well. |

No, not unclear to me at least. I've been clear on the rules since they were new. |

It's a personal preference that the voter was expressing; it had nothing to do with rules. |

Yes. Check out the comments. You were not alone. Just one voter expressing his opinion and punishing entrants accordingly. |

No the rules aren't unclear.
Using PS filters is okay, as they are always within the ruleset exept minimal
But there is a general discussion if a picture which is processed heavily is still a photo or another piece of artwork (lets call it phainto - a mixture between photo, photoshopping and painting)
The comments refers on the personal opinion of the voter that a phainto is not appropriate for a photo challenge.
That's how I interpret this.
And it may occur to any other challenge as well. You as a creator of your entry can decide if you want to risk low votes because your entry is more a phainto instead of a photo or not. |

I can't ever recall using one of those photoshop filters before now. I'm more on the minimal photoshop side, which is why i avoid 'extended rules' challenges. Learned something from this experience tho. I'm good :) |
