I have been looking at several Fish Eye add-ons for my digital rebel. DO these lenses actually take sharp and wide photos?
Here is an example of one:

I think the basic idea of having a dSLR was to get lenses...you should look into the 15mm f2.8 L USM fisheye... I've rented it on some occasions and it's one sweet lens. I can't imagine of crappy add-ons must be.

I have seen some images taken with these add on wide angle lenses and some are good and some are bad. With the Digital Rebel it will first matter what lens you are using to begin with. The 18-55 kit lens isn't the sharpest lens to begin with and adding an adapter of some sort will probably just enhance the softness. However, if you start out with a good sharp lens and then add one of these sort of adapters you will probably get better results assuming that you are also using a high quality wide angle adapter lens. No personal experience though. I have just seen some shots from a friend that has one of these for his non-DSLR digital camera.
I wonder if there are any sort of plans for a company to make a circular fish eyes to use with the DSLRs that will no crop any part of the circle. It would be cool if Canon would come out with a circular fish eye EF-s lens.
