Well, the bug-eyed monster is here! I spent some time with the USB dock getting AF dialed in. Still have to verify in better light, but I think I have it pretty close. I had to dial in more focus compensation at infinity than I expected, but it is now nailing focus @ f/1.4 from only inches from the front element out to 35 feet or so. All this indoors in average room light.
First impressions of performance are very good, and impressions of size are, well, it's substantial. It will actually take up more vertical room in the bag than the 50/1.4 art (due to the permanent "hood")! The hoo-mongous lens cap slides securely on; one of my worries was that it would act like the one for the Canon 15mm fish, and slide off too easily. Not the case.
