I have a 35mm and 6x7cm camera. I would love to upload some of my work and get critiques. Does anyone care that I scan them in to make them digital? Thanks. |

not really, but I think you can't submit them for a challenge. |

As it relates to digital..... it is a topic that has not been discussed too much on this site. A handful of files have been presented in various forums previously and I for one would take a look at your fotos, and also would like to hear about your transfer method. |

You are welcome to post scanned film images for critiques or comments. The only thing for which you may not use a scanned image is a challenge entry.

if you really want to submit them for a challenge, you could always take a digital photo of your film photo and submit it!!! But that opens a whole new can of worms.
I for one would like to see lots more film pictures, especially those with interesting processing done in the darkroom. Maybe we could have a new section of the forum for it? After all, I think we can all learn a great deal from "traditional" photography. |

Actually, as described it would be a violation of the rule on using "literal representations of existing art." |

I've been scanning some slides, but with limited success. After discussing a few of the problems, it appears I need to be using a different scanner. There are scanners especially for film and slides--some very expensive and some just expensive. Many, if not most, professional photographers these days use digital files, so they must scan their film (probably negatives) and slides at some point. I've got a lot of slides dating back into the 70s and 80s, so I'd love to get this process down at some point.
