I have a 322RC2, and the darn thing has never supported much since I got it, and I let it go too long 'cause I simply don't use it that much. Now it's so loose I can't use it. It's supposed to be able to handle 11 pounds. My D810, components added rounded up by weight is maybe 6-7 pounds, and it barely holds it still flat and level. Forget about any kind of angle at all.
The only thing that looks remotely to me like it may have any kind of possible adjustment is this allen screw between the handle halves.....wondering if I were to back it out if it might tighten the grip. The tightening wheel and indicator do work, but it simply will NOT get tight enough to prevent movement.
I thought I'd throw this cry for help out there before I take it apart.

Yes, you adjust that 3mm allen screw a little at a time.
