I finally got my new Canon 6D with a 24-105mm / 50mm 1.4 and few other things
I tried to connect it to my Samsung Galaxy note II be it seems the Canon remote app is not fit for that type of phone
Any help on how to go about this?

I did mine with with S4 though my wife has Note II and I will verify and share the details. |

Works like a breeze on a LG android I use, a 2 years old model. Also as a breeze on my iPad and iPhone. One of the things I often forgot at the beginning was to make sure that:
1) enable the wifi on 6D
2) CONNECT THE DEVICE to the 6D wifi
Then turn on the canon app. It takes couple of sec to connect.
