I went to the BBC site, and watched a video that was sponsored by Nee-kahn!
And yet in America, it would have been sponsored by N-eye-kon.
At least when you shoot canon, you know who sponsors your programs!!

I've had this discussion before. It's Nik-on. Nik as in Nick. Nicholas. Nick off. Thrown in the nick. Knickers. Definitely nothing like Nike, as is Mike, or any variation thereof. |

Can you imagine us Canon shooters to be so f***ing pretentious as to have multiple pronunciations for our brand? Can't you just hear us talking about our Caahnons? |

Sorry. Drinking again. I maybe should stop. Or not. Now's a great time for an honest opinion! :) |

Drinking at 9 in the morning. That's what you get when you have the upscale caahnon. You should stick with the 7D -- that brings you down to earth a bit. :)
(of course I know it's not 9 in the morning there -- but it's still 9 in the morning, and you're drinking, so there!)

It is currently 11:04 pm on Sunday night where I am. Work day tomorrow. Kids to school etc etc etc etc.
I still LOVE my Caahnon. Fortunately it is very far away from me atm. |

9am here. Day just starting. One kid gone for two days to a state envirothon competition (which is really too bad, because I wanted to use her in the fork in the road photo shoot!), going to pick the other up from a boy scout order of the arrow ordeal (been gone for two days). Still have to come up with something for green -- so the caahnon will have to go with me, just in case.
Tried playing around with a couple of ideas this morning, but there's a huge learning curve to what I was trying. Definitely not enough time to figure it out by tonight.
I wonder what a green squirrel would look like... :)

Even a green squirrel shot with a Caahnon would look fantastic. I have nothing in voting currently and foresee nothing in voting for a while yet. Other stuff happening. I am enjoying perusing the forums and adding my thoughts when I can formulate them. I am really enjoying the absolute total lack of stress/worry associated with challenge entries. And commenting while under the influence, of course. |

I'll pronounce it Nick-ahn, if everyone everywhere agrees to pronounce aluminum correctly, and never "al-lou-miny-ummm" ever again. |

But it IS al-u-min-e-um. Aluminium. So there. |

Thank God I buy my stuff in Dutch speaking shops. At least there's not the hassle of pronouncing it this or that way. In Dutch it's plain simple Nikon like Nixon but with a K.

That drives me nuts when I hear it pronounced that way. I heard so many people mispronounce it that for a few years I thought I may have been the one pronouncing it wrong.

Can we agree that the contraction of "it is" is spelled with an apostrophe (it's)? Unless you are claiming the h belongs to the t ... |
