Print it out on paper
photograph it
mask the letters
layer it in.
Sounds dumb to jump through those hoops, but I've verified with site council for a previous entry that it's legal in expert.

If I had to enter something, I'd go for something like:
Ned Stark, "Winter is Coming".
Yes, that doesn't make sense to me, either. But, that was the caption my nephew placed on that image when I posted it on FB. |
I would go with Jon Snow, after all, it is a crow on top of a frozen wall... :) |
About twice as big as a common crow, this is a Raven, Corvus corax. Maybe you meant Jim Crow. Or, Jim Croce? Or, Snow White and the Huntsman?
Jon Snow does not compute to me.
Ned Stark meme.

Jon Snow and Ned Stark are characters in the book/series Game of Thrones. |

I'm guessing you don't watch the show :)
Jon Snow is Ned Stark's son. He is part of the "Brotherhood of the Nights Watch" who are often refereed to as crows. They basically guard the land of the living from the land of the dead from atop a giant defensive wall made of ice.
But this confusion brings up a good point. Unless someone really knows their meme's, this will be a very difficult challenge to vote on.

That doesn't compute, either. I take offense at your comment. Although, from context it seems to refer to old age. I saw your emoticon, but that doesn't make it okay. You guys watch too much television.
I'm out. |

Ned Stark is a character in HBO's Game of Thrones series (well, technically he's a character in the book series A Song of Ice and Fire).
Crows figure quite prominently, and winter is coming is a very popular saying. ;D |

THIS ... is the funniest thing I've read all day! I'm pretty sure hahn didn't mean it in a comic way, but the way the language and sentences are crafted, it is comedic genius! And that's a compliment from me to hahn, whether or not he meant to construct it so well.
:-D

No offense meant. You commented that you felt this challenge was for the younger generation since you were not familiar with show Game of Thrones. I merely suggested a show that was popular for folks of the older generation and meme-popular to indicate it did not have to be generational.

Personally, my head is spinning. This challenge is actually very challenging. I'm a fan of memes, A Big Fan.
It's a catch 22 that memes are usually not attractively set out in a way that would do well translated into a DPC entry. Often it's the rawness of the meme that catapults it to stardom!
My favourite memes are videos. Challenge. Will the meme be recognized by the voter? Challenge.
I have no idea what to do!?!?

Thanks, Slippy. Someone finally fathomed my sense of humor. Most people do not have a clue.

Actually, it'll be followed by "Ululation" - Capture someone ululating in public or private. |

The weirdest thing about this challenge is that it is expert editing.
No matter if it is old school (extreme ironing, owling, planking) or new school (vadreing or my favorite Kamehameha) the whole point is to actually do it on camera. You get your friends together and do a Kamehameha and hope one turns out.
Assembling one in photoshop takes all the dorky fun out of it. |
