I think it is heartwarming what lengths the finders of the camera went to reunite it with its owner. Fanstastic!

I found an unprotected iPod Touch under 5 feet of surf in the Atlantic Ocean once. I rinsed it in fresh water, dried it in a bag of rice for a week, and the thing actually turned on... for about 5 seconds. Fzzzt!

Well I'd say the advertising had a lot to do with it =).

I just want to buy that brand of housing.

It must have been suspended in the water column somewhere not too far below the surface, or maybe floated and she didn't notice it. Had it moved along on the bottom in the currents there, the water pressure would have crushed it.
In any case, it's an amazing story with a happy ending. One more good reason to put a shot of your contact info in each of your camera cards, and also in your copyright info in exif files.

That started off sounding like some pretty serious innuendo. ;)

LOL. NO, that was my "dry bag" for keeping gear safe on a boat. And Cory, out of the gutter and into the sunshine, d00d!

ETA: LOL, wait, she means my camera CASE: a Pelican waterproof case, bright yellow. I also have a vinyl dry bag...
