Also, the upscaling problem is now resolved too.

Not really. The images uploaded at the prior resolutions of max 950px will continue to be upscaled to whatever window/browser the viewer is using, looking all blurry and pixelated, but if you chose to opt out of upscaling, YOU, in your own browser window, will not see any upscaling of the images in your portfolio. But anyone else will still see them upscaled.

BTW, I am furious about this! Furious is probably an understatement.

As you should be. This came without any notice. I expected more from the 1x crew. They seem like a smart bunch. Someone might be on vacation for two weeks not knowing their pics are looking awful. The default should've been not to turn on HD(or upsizing) for all accounts.

maybe 1x was taken over by smugmug ;-)

I probably wouldn't have found this nearly as funny except I thought of something very similar!!!!!

I thought it was very appropriate :) I was laughing last night, and still am.

Well, the new agreement certainly provides some entertaining reading. Marking photos for sale gives them permission to edit your photo...is this a typical feature?

I just logged in over there for the first time since the change over and was prompted with a message saying the photos are protected from right clicking and downloading. While the first one is true the second (i.e. the downloading) is not true at all. It took me less time to download an HD photo than it did loading the page itself. Someone should really tell those guys over there NOT to make that promise.

Absolutely right. Anyone who thinks a HD image on the net is safe, without seriously detracting watermarks, should have their head examined.

Seriously, it's even something that could be scraped automatically.

The pretend photographers out there who like to steal the work of others and pretend it's their own are, no doubt, wetting their pants with excitement.

A true pretender would also steal said pants.
