Hooray!!! El Box of Crap arrived safe and sound today, courtesy of Waddy aka Melonmusketeer!!
Here's how she looked upon opening (apologies if the composition and processing DNMC):
Box has clearly seen some travels and adventures! I suspect it will last a turn or two before needing replacement. The fact that Spiffy is up next is actually a nice full circle for the box.
Anyway, the box is stuffed to the hilt with stuff. Anything that had a cavity of some sort had something stuffed in that too --- much like a drug smuggler.
All sorts of gear, quite varied! It was a tough choice (both Flash related), but eventually chose these guys that I've had my eye on for a while...been hoping they would last till the got to me.
I already have a pair of these triggers, but since I'm looking at picking up some more strobes, I needed another pair! Quite fortuitous!
Anyway, I've tried repacking everything back into the box, but it's a struggle! No idea how Waddy got everything in there! Nonetheless, I shall have the box on it's merry way either tomorrow, or Monday the latest! Spiffy, PM me your address, please good fellow! |

A woman left her purse on the bus, and later got a call from the lost-and-found that it had been recovered, and that she could come to headquarters and claim it. When she got there several men were standing around a table, on which sat her purse and a box of stuff.
"We had to take everything out to inventory it," explained the supervisor. "I hope you don't mind if we stand and watch," he continued, "because we all tried, and none of us could figure out how you get all that stuff in there." |

I struggled with getting everything in even back when I had it. I can just imagine what it's like now...

A rather worn box of Crappy Crap is on the way!
NOTE: I made a boo boo. Noticed on the floorboard of my car this morning a pinhole lens cap that someone had put in and I had taken out to try. Somehow never ended up in the box. Not sure what to do with it now? Guess I can mail it to anyone who wanted it?

The BOC arrived today for my birthday. Haven't looked at the contents in detail yet, but there are a couple of the original craps that I'll be removing to make room for better crap.

Crappy Birthday Spiff!
I decided to keep a Vivitar Series 1, 62mm filter kit, to use with the 55-300 lens. It has a nice little pouch, with UV and C P filters in it.
Thanks for starting the game. |

Here's what I took.
-A book about the story behind famous photos
-67mm UV filter
-62mm circular polarizer
-Gary Fong diffuser.
Added a few things and removed some of my original craps that I didn't think anyone would want in order to make room for better craps.

The crap is now on the way to Alfresco
In related news, the cycling BOC that inspired this one is now winging it's way toward me.

I certainly will. On Bikeforums. I suppose I can here if you really want to see a box of bicycle parts.

It'd be fun to see what inspired you to start this, I'd like it if you did post one up, show us your new bike crap. :)

The postal carrier left this inside our porch door this morning:
I quickly ran out (once the carrier left, one doesn't want to look anxious) and brought it to the kitchen.
Then I opened the box.
Then unpacked everything. Yes, everything was pixellated.... I don't know how Steve did that.
I chose The World's Coolest Flashlight Camera, a wrist strap, and a small lens pouch:
I then added to the collection of goods a set of _____s, two _____, a _____, two _____, and three _____. I also put an extra treat just for Lydia (!) (And no, it's not snow. Which we still have a few feet of on the ground. And are getting another foot of this weekend. And could do without. But no, it's not snow.)
Then I took three hours trying to get everything back into the box:
Then I put the box in the car:
and took it to the post office and sent it to Lydia!!!

I got the USPS email telling me it had been delivered just a couple of hours ago. Thanks for the entertaining post. Now we'll all have to get more creative with our unboxing pics. Animated GIF's?

The bicycle box of crap arrived for me today. Several people wanted me to post pics to show the box that inspired ours.
Here's what teased me when I opened it:
And what I am keeping:
52 tooth Campy chainring
Grips
Sealed bottom bracket
Origin 8 road stem

The bicycle box is quite heavy. Lots of metal parts, even though they are aluminum alloy, it adds up. No way could it be done without the flat rate boxes.

I've got the Crap!!
Yipppeee!
Have spent the afternoon going through it all... Hubby and I looked in wonder at a couple of things... LOLd at a baggie of a few same items (I took one... and don't feel old at all... so sue me!) That was HILARIOUS! Who put those in?? LOL!
I found four things and added six.
I asked Oldest Son if he thought I'd made good choices, and he agreed.
I'll post photos tomorrow.
Such fun!
Alfresco even put in a special surprise for me... right on top!
Tune in tomorrow to see what it was!
Such a great place here... DPC! I've never met Alfresco and he sent me a surprise! How totally, wonderfully FUN!
