Is there a fish eye lense attachment that works for the DSC-F828? I know there are macro, telephoto, and wide angle lenses. I've looked a bit, but haven't heard of a compatible super wide angle. Leads? |

I use a 0.7 wide angle on my F828 using a 58-52mm ring adaptor. The only side effect is "vignetting" (black corners), which i can overcome by zooming slightly, but losing a bit of angle. So I imagine with a fisheye this would be much worse... I've been meaning to get one myself but I'm still broke after buying the camera :S
I found this 0.25x fisheye (link below), and it comes with a bunch of adaptors, but the 58mm is the only one you need... I have no idea about the quality of this one. For $79.95 I really wouldnt expect much and with the 828's little fringing problem, you might just cause more trouble. Anyway, this made me realise you can buy a fisheye, and then the appropriate ring adaptor. I imagine if you can find a fisheye with a standard thread size greater than the F828's 58mm, get that over one that's smaller. It may help with the vignetting problem. Anyway here's the link

thanks for the info Stefan. I'm very happy with my 828. I've got my gripes, but it's by far the best camera i've ever used. the big cons so far have been noise, purple fringing, and my greens can come out a bit yellow. just now i'm starting to wish it possible to shoot in B&W and to adjust the aperature and shutter in nightshot (I guess in older sony cams people used nightshot to see through some clothing so sony made it to only work at night--trouble is that makes it a trick to use for normal infrared photography in the daytime! |
