Cliches and Sayings
although there has been other challenges about proverbs, etc.
and here's a few sites for ideas

The Book of Cliches
this one might help the shoe-horners ... you can search for cliches with a specific word in it (although it seems to find text strings and not exact words... so search for "up" would return cliches with the word "up" but also "super", "supper", "uphold", etc.)

Thanks for all the links, btw I was thinking if I could post a saying in my mother tongue or people would simply vote it down .

Any reason NOT to translate it? Or, if it's not too long, provide the native text and, in parentheses, the translation? like:
Cogito, Ergo Sum (I think, therefore I am)

This would have been a fun expert editing challenge -- I keep coming across great expert editing cliches:

Can't shoot what I wanted today. Raining all day.
Ugh.
Tomorrow it's supposed to be clear, and a little warmer. So maybe, JUST MAYBE, I'll get the shot in time.

Yup... weather didn't hold up.
Looks like I'm going with a "meh" image that is last minute.
Oh well.
I'm wanting to enter as many challenges as possible, even if that means I get a new PW. :P

I'd love to get a new PW, but that's going to be tough. Getting an image to 1.XXXX takes real skill I don't have. |
