$69 for Lightroom 3. Today only! I know LR4 will be out soon but I'm guessing it will be cheaper to upgrade from 3 and at $69 it's a pretty good deal.

It appears to be out of stock now but says available 16 Feb. May still be able to order at the sale price. |

Just placed my order, the progress bar froze and I had to close the window, but I did get a confirmation e-mail. Thanks for the tip! My trial version is about to run out. |

I was wondering if $69 will be less than the price of the upgrade!
Assuming were within the grace period now...upgrades are usually $99, so buying one at $69 now might be equivalent to a $30 discount! |

And I thought the $99 price at Newegg over the weekend was good, LOL. This is almost free.

What are the advantages/disadvantages of lightroom vs photoshop? I have CS2 right now. Would LR be an ugrade? |

SEG I can't answer that other than to say LR, as I understand is great for cataloging photos via it's library. I'm sure many can comment further but that's the reason I just purchased it. I guess I'll have to read some tutorials and begin the laborious process of archiving all my photos......ughhhhh.
I do believe it's easier to batch standard corrections for quicker workflow as well. Also taking a chance that I will want some of the new features in LR4 and upgrading may be cheaper than purchasing new when released.
Others can confirm or deny my hope here. |

Does anyone know if the LR cataloging utility is much different or better than the Organizer built into Photoshop Elements 10? |

And for the UK crowd - £39.99 in PC World at the moment. Bargain! |

Lightroom is a good every day tool geared towards library management, developing photos with global edits, a limited set of spot and localized changes, printing and publishing photos. If you want to get into more advanced editing, you'll still need photoshop. There is a free trial, so best thing is to just go and try it. |

Will be able to upgrade from LR 2 to LR 4 or do I need to upgrade from 3? |

It looks like you will be able to...Adobe had announced a 1 version update policy earlier but apparently backed off for 2012 due to user pressure. What I read anyway.

Sounds like a great deal, I use nothing more than Lightroom with a few plugins, it's all you need believe me. |

Dang, I bought LR back in December for $200 so this was a GREAT deal. I think they were also offering the PSE10 and PE10 bundle for dirt cheap as well but I didn't jump on that, and maybe I should have. I had the trial of both but didn't use PS that much and Premiere ran slowly on my 2007 laptop.
jagar: I agree, I have LR + the Nik software suite (buying the whole suite ends up being a pretty good deal) and I don't find I need anything else. I have PSE10 but the trial ended awhile ago and I haven't paid for it yet. The only thing I used it for was stitching some panos together. |
