I think it's a wire recorder too. Works like tape recorder, only it uses wire instead of tape.
Missed that one I guess. That would be the forerunner to punch card computers.

I'm pretty sure it's a stopper. The metal part screws on to something, and the black knob is used to press the inside piece onto the end of the mating object, sealing it.

Not a stopper or clamp. It is used on a bicycle, however.
