How do i resize a photo to enter it into one of the challenges?
I am completely new to photography and any help would be greatly appreciated

what software are you using?
If you're using photoshop:
go to the image menu and select image size
change it to 800 pixels in the longest/widest direction
after you resize, you should sharpen. I do this by going to the filter menu, select sharpen -> smart sharpen. I use an amount of 109% and a radius of somewhere between .3 and .5 depending upon the results you're looking for. |

There is an excellent tutorial on entering challenges here. The only caveat is that it needs to be updated since the photo file size is now 300KB, not 150 as is stated in the tutorial.

if you use a mac i would open it in preview and go to tools adjust size and you can use the preset 800-600 which makes the longest edge 800 pixels... |
