| Out of pure curiosity, do any of the administrators or council members, or people who have enough time to count, know exactly how many people are registered on this site? |

Just go to the Photographers under Community. On the right it tells you the total.

| I don't think you need people with calculators to know that. A simple script will pull out the data and display the stats. |

As best as I can tell, only 1353 are paid members...The first 45 pages of photographers are blue shirts, plus 3 on page 46...the rest are grey.
Wish I had something more philosophical to say, as this is my 1800th post...and I've only been here for 3 1/2 months! Someone needs to tell me to shut up every once in a while! LOL ;o)

I think admin would be able to tell us how many people have logged on to DPC in the last month or so. That would probably give us a good idea of how many people are active here.
(By the way, this was my 898th post, and I've been here for a year and a half. Laurie, shut up now and then. :)

Laurie, your number for total members is correct for "all full members", including SC and admins. The breakout is:
1334.. paid members
17....... site council memebers
2......... admins
The easiest way to get these totals is to start at the Community > Photographer Profiles page and select "Member" in the "of Type" pull-down, then hit search without any additional entries. You'll get all paid members. The count is shown at upper right, e.g. "Showing results 1-30 of 1334." SC are currently 17, and admins are two, of course.
You can filter out everything else and count just "registered users" this way too.
As a reference point, last December we had about 850 paid members, and we've had a strong upward trend ever since.

The 'poll' totals would give u a decent idea of how many are 'active'. I would think that the number of people who vote on a poll would be a decent indicator.

That would probably put it around 300 active users.

Of the other 23,000 subscribers (non-members), I wonder if we could get a statistic that tells how active they are (e.g., 'logged in more than 5 times in the past month', or 'submitted to a challenge at least once in the past month', etc...)?
