How would they know they said nasty things about your picture since they don't know which on is yours?

First rule of Fight Club..we never talk about Fight Club :-)

First rule of DP Challenge. You will get rude remarks, low scores, and generally agitating stuff. Get tough skin or be ready for a long ride ... It's the net after all :-)

Users should feel free and are encouraged to leave comments on a photograph using the comment box under each photograph. Criticism, praise, and other constructive comments are all welcome. Blatantly slanderous, rude, or profane comments may be removed, and the owners of such comments may be suspended or lose their accounts.

The above is straight from the rules for this site! I agree with BigSmiles all the way! If they don''t have anything helpfull to say, then don''t say anything at all!

They may be in the rules but it ain't the way the world works..especially around here.

I don't condone it, I don't participate in it...it just is.

1). I will be willing to bet a turkey sandwich on rye that the person that gave that rude comment doesn't even read the forums.

2). Because the entries are anonymous..no one will know until after the voting who made the comment or other details

3). Because there are roughly 300 voters at any given time and only half that many people submit..there is a 50 percent chance that a person commenting is just a random surfer long gone from this site or at the very least not planning to be here and participate beyond an occasional drive by shooting.

So..with all that in mind..it just seems a bit silly to worry too much about the random rude comment. Better to just shrug your shoulders and move on to the more positive stuff.

What Hokie said, but I'll add:

If you want to really make the idiot happy, get upset at his/her/it's comment. It's what they live for... If you want he/she/it to crawl back under their slimmy little rock, ignore them...

At least this is how I've found the internet to work so far. Sometimes I wish Al Gore never invented the dang thing in the first place.
