Hanging in there. Was up to 7.10 briefly again this morning (fourth time it has gotten there) only to sink back a little. In general, the recent trend is flat.
The 19 comments is more than a little surprising. There's a reason, though, which of course I can't discuss as it might compromise anonymity. I will say that the high comment count is a bit of a double-edged sword :-)

OMG.... I just checked in... and there it was. My picture creeped over the 7+ mark. THEN... I was stupid enough to press update:

I know I'm going to catch some flak, but my score IS bugging me. I was pretty sure I had a 7.0, but the last dozen votes have hammered it down to 6.77. It just seems like someone is playing some games.

Well, grab an oar, you're not the only one in that boat! I dropped from 7.10 to 6.89 in 28 votes. :-P

My average during those 28 votes was 6.07. There's a 0.2% chance, statistically, that this would happen purely by chance. Either there's strong differentiation between early voters and late voters in the way they vote, or somebody's trying to game the system.

Auuuugh... I hate to hear that. Mine peaked up over 7 again too... only to tank fast since then. I hate it that people really do that... but I know they do. Because I've watched my score drop significantly in the past in front of my own eyes while my number of votes didn't increase. I hope someday we will only be allowed to vote one time and not be allowed to change our vote. For some reason, I think that is the culprit. Clever vote manipulation as the end draws near.

Actual scores really don't matter at all, as long as the people voting are using the same standard for every image they vote on. The best images (according to the voting participants) will still rise to the top of the pile. This is exactly why the last DPL switched to placement percentile as the team scoring system.

If everyone collectively is upset because the scores are dropping, that means those "troll voters" are treating everyone the same ... and the voting system is still working properly.
