768 Kbps SDSL and 6 Mbps ADSL autonomous at home, 1.5 Mbps T1 in the office, and 10 Mbps colo for me, so I voted T1 or higher.

Believe me it does not pay to join photo clubs unless you have the speed. |

I don't understand why T1 or greater is an option. Cable/DSL is almost always faster than a T1.
Well, the cable in my city.

Thank you, but the technology advances too quick for me. All I can say in awe is "wow." |

That depends on the provider.
What does it matter how fast we upload?

Do you submit to challenges?
Also, I'm curious what providers are providing super-T1 speed in both directions over cable/DSL on a widespread basis.

quite a cool feature -- has it been around long? I've not seen/used it since I've been here (last November) I like it! |

I do, but a 150kb image upload is nothing, even on dial-up.
Speakeasy has 6Mb/768KB
And at work, in addition to our T1, RoadRunner provides us a 3.5Mb/1.5Mb cable connection

I use T1, dial-up and DSL all about evenly; depends on where I am. I participate on DPC largely in connection to what computer I am currently at or can get to. For this reason, I didn't "vote".

It has been around a while, but was largely unused for a long time and to be honest we sort of forgot about it. Recently, I asked Langdon to give Site Council the ability to create SC-only polls (only Langdon and Drew can make public polls) to streamline our decision-making process. For about the last 1½ months, it's been getting heavy use in that capacity. We then decided it would be good to run some public polls. Some will be to gather information we might find useful in making decisions about the site, others will be just for fun.

Terry, how about having a "vote" on whether or not people here feel that you should only get one DQ a year as mentioned in a previous thread? Sorry if I am turning off topic at all.

I'll suggest that... but as most major site revisions are on hold until the DPC Prints revision is completed, that not happen for a while (if at all).

I hope this poll will be up for a while as it might take those with dial up modems a while to download the page and see there is a poll! :P
(joking of course! hehe) |
