Super hard call for me...
It's a split between my 100mm f/2.8 macro and my 85mm f/1.8 prime.. They both have their place, but I seem to use the 85mm f/1.8 most, however it's clear that the 100mm f/2.8 is an optically superior lens.. |

I agree, but I've only borrowed the Canon version of this lens once and don't own it, so I'm not sure listing it would be fair...
BTW, the Canon prime is so darn good it delivered my personal best and only ribbon so far, and I only borrowed the thing for about an hour... Pretty impressive lens. How do you think the Nikon version compares to the Canon offering?

Nikon 85 1.8 or Sigma 30 1.4. To be fair, I also really really love using my 50 1.8 E-Series manual focus. I don't use it enough, but it's just such a pleasure to slow things down, and it's got a very particular look that none of my others do. It's my favorite for a totally different reason than the other two, not about the shooting but largely the experience I guess? I figure it's fair to list since it's totally manual ;) |

As good or better than the Canon version I had. The Nikon I have seems to take a 1.4 better than my canon one did. But they are both spectacular lenses. |

Canon EF 14mm f/2.8 L USM - an amazingly shrap, ultra wide angle. Great for architectural, interior, or wast landscapes... |

Ok, where do I go to report Kawana for this discriminatory thread? I only have one prime right now...the Canon 50mm 1.8 II (nifty fifty). How come I have to sit on the side lines. NOT FAIR! :P

Lol, I am currently massively studying for a huge math exam tomorrow. Went onto dpc for a short break and clicked onto this topic fully expecting the question to be "What is your favorite prime number"
Somebody save me from math!!!
As for my favorite camera prime...I only have one, the 50mm 1.4

I'll trade you your 1.4 for for my 1.8 because you know 1.8 is a higher number which means a better lens right? ;) |

Pentax M SMC 50mm f/1.4, just purchased used. It's like starting all over again, almost like being in love. |
