I'm intrigued what message you think this picture is conveying, because I have a feeling it has an entirely different meaning to me as Brit:

so because the image contains an middle eastern throwing up a peace sign with a bloody mask its image of the year.
i don't have anything against the image, but it doesn't do anything for me. I've seen better.

| My guess is that image won't even make the top 100 of the year. It's just not that powerful of an image. |

That is not a peace sign, that is a f*** off or victory sign (early century). Either way, IMO it takes away from this shot
If it had been a peace sign, then it would have been a more powerful image
