However, the biggest question that remains unanswered is.....

Byron - with the TT5 and the 580ex mk2 do you need to use shielding to cut down on the interference of the capcitors in the flashgun, or did you import the European versions of the pocket wizards that transmit on a different frequency and as a result are the more sought after version of PWs?

You should just sign up for an apprenticeship with Byron and learn all about this stuff. Let me give you his card...

Yeah... What's UP with that anyway? I mean, it's obvious which brand is superior, as only by using one of them can you be Canonized...

Personally I have been wondering if gay rights, including marriage, are evolving.

Aww, but how are we supposed to let a thread in RANT go unabused?

Aren't they all supposed to end up as long-winded 70+ page twisted journeys of non-compatible world views?

If ByronD is serious about entering some challenges here or participating, can we give him a free membership for a year? I think he's earned it. If for no other reason, his post had to be in the top 10 for longest forum posts. Where's the ribbon for that?

If the site isn't willing to provide the free membership, I'll contribute $5 for him to join. Who's with me?

Oh FFS - its not like he lost a leg in afghanistan or something.. get a grip.

He hasnt earnt it at all, people like IreneM, Bear_Music, DrAchoo, Yanko etc. have earned it by continuously inspiring, helping and contriubuting, not by getting in the way of a hired photographer not by writing a single `long post`.

That's a month right there... Enough time for him to decide if he likes it here... go ahead, send him an e-mail and tell him we really would like to have him join us for a few rounds..

What? Back in 2005, when the site was REALLY going, I used to write posts like that while it was -20 below...with mittens on...and my eyes were frozen...

Thank you for keeping an amusing thread amusing after it threatened to become vomit-inducingly pleasant ;D

So glad I read this thread. Who needs a good book or TV when we have this awesomeness on here. Now that I have completely neglected my children and really need to do the parenting thing I must go.

Pirates who don't like swearing and judge your character based on your use of profanity... now I have truly seen it all.

You've got a classic three-act story arc here folks, congrats!

As with typical Rant Threads, I'm going to make a comment not having read any of the 10 pages of comments and stir up the can of worms again.

You should be professional enough to handle any uninvited photographers. Otherwise, you shouldn't be doing the job in the first place.

There, now I've saved this thread from passing on. My post will add at least 3 more pages. If not let me add:

I think we should save the Nikon loving gay whales for Jesus.

Simms, the Flex system I have is the US version. I've never noticed any problems with interference, but then it's always been very close. PocketWizard did send out for free the AC5 flexible soft shield that goes around the flash but I've not needed to use it. I'm still getting used to it, but I've been very happy with the results, and I might get the zone controller unit sometime as well. It sounds like you have been liking it so far as well?

yeah, its great fun, a lot more flexible than using the built in IR function. I think the ZC unit would be a lot of messing about on a wedding day. My biggest problem is the build quality of the hotshoe attachments, very brittle plastic - I have already killed one Flex TT1 - considering the price one would of expect metal attachments.
