hey all,

i saw the recent post about portrait pricing, but i think this is a bit of a different situation

so im pretty new to the business side of things. I was contacted by an old friend, his boss needs some photos taken of some new houses his company built. Im not sure what my friend told him but it sounds like he would like to hire my services.

I have no clue what to charge for the time spent shooting, processing, and for the images them selves (files i assume).

any help in this area is much appreciated!

there are some ideas in this thread about real estate shooting. research this well, and spend some time in a bookstore or library studying basic business. unless you have an understanding of what you're getting yourself into, you are going to spend HOURS riding around shooting stuff and getting little in return for it. and, if you wind up doing nothing more than drive by shooting, you really aren't going to be getting much for your portfolio. at best, you'll be developing a reputation of being someone who will work for free...DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU ;-)

I would charge so much per location plus mileage for anything over 25 miles
