Well... are we?

Have you seen any night photos from space lately?

We are working on cyborg technology, including fully articulate artificial limbs, artificial and augmented vision through inserted contacts and retinal implants. Artificial organs are being developed. And, yes, we are working on ways to implement a hive mind.

So, while it won't be necessarily as invasive as being assimilated by the Borg, human/machine hybrids are in our very near future.

Bah! You're assuming that the Borg rely upon an 8-bit system like we do..

Nothing says they couldn't effectively use a 23 bit code....

An ampere (one coulomb [KOO-lahm] per second) is the current that flows through the resistance of one ohm when one volt of electromotive force is applied. Current is usually referred to as flowing from source to sink. The sobriety test is poetic license.
