These kinds of pictures are cool. Check out Carl Warner and his foodscapes. (His own site is carlwarner.com, but I didn't link to it because it obnoxiously resizes your browser window, and the flash junk is designed agonizingly slowly -- go there only if you don't mind being told how you should browse.) |

A mirror tends to give a double-edged reflection when shooting close and at an angle: they are mostly back-silvered with glass on top. There are front-silvered mirrors that do not do this. Another possibility is to line a tray with black plastic and put water in that; instant reflective surface.

this challenge should be right up my alley (considering all the ribbons i've won on this site are all for "homemade" items or crafts-tabasco, potatoe slinky, the chess set, and even underdog's homemade costume)....but after all the halloween costumes i've had to make for people these last few weeks, the chess set, and a duct tape pumpkin i just finished...i feel all crafted out and just can't seem to get into it... maybe after the weekend, i'll feel like crafting again ;) |

Good Luck to all who entered.
I am going to have to post my idea and composition when the Outtakes are ready.
I am really wishing I had started it earlier....the 'build' for just one element is taking longer than I thought:-( I will need the sunlight for this one and if I plod on the light will be gone by the time I am finished. |
