This seems to have been the pattern I've noticed, since I became active a few months ago. It starts high, drops and drops and drops, then comes up a little just before the end. I think the first folks online right at turn-over are really interested in the art, then maybe a bunch of "normals" (grin) get a look at things and hammer away at them. Finally, the weekend crowd provides a kind of second wind for many scores. (honestly, I'm not really an art snob or expert, but I'm doing my best to create something that I can consider "decent", myself... it's just fun wording this like I'm part of the "in-crowd" of DPC... hehe)
I'll probably be a bit busy until this weekend, so haven't started giving out scores or comments, but I may try to do it bit by bit along the way, and I may change my vote over time. I wouldn't be too surprised if other folks do something similar, too. Scores can change, even without new votes being cast. I'll be happy with myself if I am able to comment on at least 20 of the entries. Hopefully, I'll do more. I also intend on choosing at least 1 fave whenever I vote, but with this challenge and all the cool stuff, I bet I'll fave at least a few. |

I'm still at 4.77 -- and I assume it's going to stay there. That's ok, I still love the shot. It makes me smile when I look at it. I'll probably print out a copy for my wall -- though it's so definitely not my style. :D
What a great site! When I first started, I wouldn't have appreciated most of these images, yet they're all so cool!

Not only is mine not climbing, it's still dropping. Started at a solid 5.5, climbed to 5.8, plummeted to it's current 5.3 |

There are some very interesting entries in this challenge but there are also a lot of entries where converting to a negative did nothing to make it look more interesting. I'm trying to comment on the images I rated a 4 (my lowest score given this challenge) but it is going to take some time. The good news is that I have bumped a few of the 4's up a notch or two as I review the images along with those I've rated higher than 4.

Man! I thought about entering in this but just wasn't sure. After looking through the images I wish I had - it was so much fun! I gave out a bunch of 10's and ended up giving an average score of just above 7.

Whew... I just spend the last 4.5 hours voting on Negative and the Sept Free Study. I also wrote quite a few comments for Negative, so I'm pretty pleased I was finally able to sit down and give others the thing I hope to receive. I'm reading up on concepts of art, so eventually I may be able to provide better critiques, but I can still give some praise to things that really stand out to me.

| My image took a serious drop in the last few hours. Not saying it would have done super well without that, but I really missed the mark with this. I thought for sure the futuristic, design-like images would take the top spots, along with some really creative abstracts, but the organic offerings did much better than expected. |

I'm not complaining with my score, but just like you, I finished aroud 6.26xx when I was sitting yesterday at 6.32xx... Last voters were harsh!

and we still get the usual glasses on the front page... I was hoping for this original challenge to be the good occasion to award originality and imagination. But apparently DPC voters are pretty down to earth... |
