Wow, here is the voice of reason. I sure like my meal placed in the garbage for a day or so, just for fun.

You're right, I'm sure slaughterhouse feedlots are probably much more comfortable and sanitary then that garbage bin...

Truth be told... they probably are.

I am truly concerned now...what if plants feel pain...what will we eat?

Ray

Something that feels pleasure at being eaten..

(Ok, now, get your minds out of the gutter and read some more Douglas Adams... Particularly "The Restaurant At The End Of The Universe..")

A sentient creature, no matter the genus, does not deserve to be inflicted with intentional suffering. Anyone that thinks that it's "just an animal", and so causing it suffering is okay, is either less evolved or psychotic. So too with anyone wishing to carry out vengeance justice on this particular woman. That kind of thinking leads directly to this.

.. I'm not 100% I see where you went with this...

Frankly I still think stuffing her in a bin for a day in the sun would be about the right punishment, nothing else really seems quite fair to me..

And as for the whole paralyzing thing, I absolutely agree with the punishment... Don't go around getting angry and stabbing people in the back, hell, I would have thought that much was obvious to everyone... I totally think there's a huge problem with asking doctors to carry out the punishment, but that's due to the Hippocratic oath, rather than some objection to inflicting matching damage upon the jerk.

YMMV, but there is a certain amount of true justice in an eye for an eye, you of course, just have to make sure that it indeed doesn't leave the entire world blind. (then again, I'm quite tired of ill-behaved humans.. Get civilized or get extinct, or some such...)

Yes, still like the stuffing in the bin for a day, but make sure the bin has been used! :P

Oh, come on. Cats by their very nature are snooty, snobbish and act all superior all the time. I think a bit of time in the garbage bin will actually do them some good. Bring them down to size a bit. I have no sympathy. I'm staying at my parents house at the moment and whilst they don't have a wheelie bin they do have a covered up disused well so i tried an experiment with their cat, Pickles. I didn't do the whole 15 hours, just 10, but i have to say that when it came out it it was a vastly more attractive creature. I know cats don't really have personalities but if they did this one certainly went up in my eyes.

Excuse me but if you don't see the evil in her action then well.....

Not really, but i suspect it's a case of diminishing returns. If we use up all our 'evil' on mundane cat imprisonment then what are we left with for genocide? Evil² perhaps.

Being serious for a moment, i really do have a problem with her actions being described as 'evil'. As i said before perhaps there are some mental health issues in the case and if that is so then describing her behaviour as evil is, in my opinion, irresponsible, dangerous and downright obnoxious. I've worked with people with quite severe mental health issues in the past and am quite aware that their behaviour is often strange, out of the ordinary and sometimes violent. I'm also very aware of the stigma and prejudice they are party to and being described as 'evil' by the tabloids or anyone is a huge part of this. If we take the old saying about how you judge a civilised society on how it treats its animals as true then the same is equally as true on how it treats its mentally unwell. And treating them as 'evil' is, in my opinion, barbaric. Ok, rant over. :)
