Judi - you are surrounded by support and friends both here and in your own community.

Your local photography backup is wonderful to hear about.

The Aboriginal dancers are a special plus as they dance to make you well.

You are the one who knows your strength, go gladly with that knowledge.

Judi, I planted a tree today in dedication to you. Its a small tree now, but will grow to be sturdy and strong. My community has a garden that we use to heal one another and help one another. We plant food and such to help those in need, flowers to deliver to those who need them (funerals, babies, etc.) this tree will be placed in the front yard of the home that is being rebuilt from the flood. I just wanted you to know. As you heal, the tree will grow.

Wish we could all be there for hugs and help (well, mostly because I wanted to go see the aboriginal dancers! That would be so incredibly cool!) :D

Best wishes. I had a friend who went through a similar experience. It took time but she came through in the end. Be patient and just work through it one step at a time. You are determined enough to come through it all.

Judi, remember we talked about haircolour the other day? I did it. I got two beautiful red stripes in my new hair in your honour, one on each side of my face. It looks great!

Judi - Best wishes for a speedy recovery (or as speedy as possible under the circumstances).

You have a huge talent, and I'm sure we will get to see more work again from you soon.

I am so happy ursulla and would really like to see your hair. i had a big day yesterday and have sore legs today. the physio told me i had to keep walking to a minium but i did lots yesterday. and i even took a couple of photos. i managed to support it woth my left hand and not need my right hand to take any weight. the bride really liked it but the groom told me not to overdo it and hurt myslef. i stuck my tongue out at him. evyerone laughed. i didnt stay for long i was too tired but i felt good to know that i remember settings. even though i just let my fingers do the stuff, i dont really remember what i was pitting it on. last night after a big sleep we went to the festival. so many people came up to my wanting to know what happend. the mayor is in shock as i saw him just before fall. i remember lots of faces but had trouble remember where i knew some of them, but to see so many faces that i did know was comforting. i had many memories flick back but others i had to be retold. the dancers gave me hugs and did a great performance. everyone loved the fire dance.

i will be having lots of sleep today to try and think clear. my eyes are blurry today. but i am happy with achievements of yesterday.

Haha! Now you're starting to sound like Judi! It sounds like a wonderful day! Behave yourself, and do what the doctors tell you to do. :D

Lovin' the updates!

Fantastic news Judi! See, you're on your way. Most people would probably be laying back in their bed feeling sorry for themselves. Not you! You're kicking butt & taking names! LOL! I'm sure you will be 100% in no time.

Sounds like you are making great progress with your recovery....I am really glad. I hate to see someone get totally disoriented by an accident. Get well soon. I know you will be back in full force before you know it....Good luck on the recovery

My sentiments exactly! It's just a matter of time, and probably far less time than anyone could have imagined.

Thanks Judi, for telling us about your busy day yesterday. It sounds like you were doing exactly what you wanted to do, even though you didn't get to do as much of it as you would have liked to do.
I am glad to hear that you can still feel good about holding your camera. Since one hand is weak, a monopod may be helpful if you want to shoot pix.
I use mine quite often by hooking the "foot" in my belt so that I can move around freely with it and not have to hold up the weight of the camera and a lens all afternoon.

When I started this thread about a month ago, there were not many people showing up to appreciate her work for some reason. I hate to say this but why did we wait for something like this? Appreciations can be handed without a disaster I believe.

I hear what you're saying, but Judi's one of the most appreciated people in DPC. She has been personally faved 669 times. Her images have been faved 2400+ times. She has too many ribbons to count. Hell, she has too many honorable mentions to count. She's a force to be reckoned with, and has been for years. So it's understandable that people might not have felt the need to respond to that thread in the same way they might to a less-visible appreciatee... That's just the way things work, I think?

But even so... :-(

We love her but didn't want to give her the "big head". : )

It seems like she needs only her "head" at this moment :-\

Since I'm the one that started this thread, I'll answer.

a. I don't remember seeing yours when it started.

b. Many others may have, like myself, given her accolades and "thanks" privately.

c. This thread isn't just appreciating her (as I see yours doing), it is also letting her know that we wish her well on this leg of her journey and support her through this absolutely terrifying time. Had there been no disaster (as I wish there hadn't been, though I do feel it will ultimately make her even better), there would have been no need for the well wishes. ...
