Judi, haven't been here for a while so I've just caught up too. (((hugs))) You are one special lady ... strong, stubborn, kind, caring and incredibly talented..... and I hope it's not too long till you're back.

How do you pick one Judi fav ..... ain't easy, this is just one of my many

Oh, dear Judi, I'm cheering you on. I have perfect confidence in you & great hope for a full recovery soon! I'll be thinking of you even more often on Wednesday.

Judi I've been thinking about you a lot lately.... remember when we were next door neighbors and I gave you your camera and lenses? Well I kind of need them back now....... LOL JUST KIDDING of course.

You are amazing and I wish I had your talent. TBI will be difficult to recover from but I'm sure you'll be able to do it. Just be patient and follow the direction and instructions from Doctors and those close by. And make sure you get rest. When we injure a limb we put a cast or sling on them and it keeps us from over doing it and lets everyone else know we are injured. With an injury like yours it isn't that simple. So just imagine a big band-aid so you'll remember to take it easy and let your brain rest between workouts and not overdo it.

I can talk, I can talk, I can talk!!

Last night my voice started happening. It only came out when I wasn't trying. If I tried to use it, it wouldn't happen. But this morning...I have my voice back. It is deep and husky and my throat hurts...but I have a voice. I am so happy. So I decided to try and drive the kids to school. Damion came with me. I did it, but couldnt use my right hand...so I am not allowed to drive for a few days until I can get more strength in my hand...but I had to prove tomyself that I can remember how to drive. A week ago I couldn't. But....I can talk.......yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Well, that's great! But it SO reminds me of my own life, where after I was deafened and stopped speaking, they invested YEARS in getting me to talk again. And, down the road, how my mother used to mutter, as I mouthed off at her yet again, that maybe that hadn't been such a good idea after all :-)

But seriously, that's great news and fantastic recovery. Now have some patience, and let yourself heal.

yahhhooooooooey! this is soooooo good to hear. hang in there and keep taking the baby (and not so baby) steps and you will be back to your self before you know.

then, you can market yourself as the NEW and IMPROVED judi!

Thanks everyone. I just ran my first class at school since the fall. The kids were happy to see me back and stayed close to me so they could hear me properly. My throat is sore but I expected that. It was so good to see my kids again...

I have got an entry in the free study at the moment. Damion kept encouraging me to enter something in one of the challenges..so I spent a whole day editing and got an entry int he free study. I am not sure when I will be entring other challenges again...I am not going to rush things just yet.

It is such a relief to see you are making progress. Thanks for the updates Judi, and keep up the positive spirit.

It's so good to hear you're doing better, Judi! Even editing and entering challenges ... hmmmm ... maybe you should take it a bit slower, eh? Not overdo it, you know ... don't want to push it :P

just read about your accident. I am so happy that you are making progress and slowly but surely regaining your Self. You are a strong woman Judy, and you will make this journey. Good luck to you!

Fantastic progress, Judi.

While I would normally say: "you go girl!"
Now? Maybe just a little slower than usual.

That's what everyone keeps telling me. I will slow down a bit now that I know I can speak. The doctor still wants me to see the neurologist on Wednesday and I start Occupational Therapy on Thursday. My physio rang earlier and I answered the phone. He nearly fell over backwards when he realised it was me speaking to him. He is happy...but has said...slow down, don't overdo it.

Really, don't over do it. I watched a special the other night where a direct connection has been made between head injuries and ALS. In all cases, the link had to do with over taxing the body & brain after the injury.

Judi, I'm amazed at the difference in your posts, and so quickly. Go back and read what you wrote at the beginning of this thread. You sound pretty much normal at this point in your written communications, and it sounds like you're talking well, too.

Yay!

Yep, we're happy!
Relax now, and let your body do some mending without forcing it.
